05:50 – Barta’a-Reihan Checkpoint

Outside there are already people who passed through the checkpoint.  We pass over to the Palestinian side; there is a short, orderly line.  When I say that to someone he says, “Come, stand with us.”  Within a short time the line gets longer and goes to the edge of the parking lot.  Rain begins to fall, the line is disrupted.  Ruti singles out a young man with a hood and from his place at the end of the line to the exit of the terminal it takes half an hour.

This is the difficult daily routine.  It is important to remember that the number of workers who have permits to pass through is large.

Before 07:00 we are on the way to Tura Checkpoint.  Suddenly a huge, full rainbow
