Afternoon

15:00 – Barta’a-Reihan Checkpoint

We brought Ali and his mother from Rambam Hospital in Haifa to Barta’a Checkpoint, and there a relative picked them up.

We went down through the sleeveinfo-icon to the terminal at 15:15 and it was odd how desolate it had been by the turnstile.  On our way back up we understood why – everyone returning was delayed above the sleeve.  We asked what was going on, and they told us that (obviously) they were looking for someone.  They began to pass people through one by one after an inspection and after a time, they let everyone pass through.  A river of people flowed in the direction of the turnstile.  We again tried to find out from the security people what had happened, but we didn’t receive sufficient answers.

16:15 – Tura-Shaked Checkpoint

The checkpoint is deserted, superfluous.

An elderly man crosses. There is one car and insideit  is a couple from Daher el-Malec. The man asks if we know that there is no electricity in the village. We answered that we know, that we are trying to take care of the problem and that we hope electricity will come to the village within a short time.

A female and a male soldier come out to us, inquire who we are and forbid us to pass through the gate.

16:45 – We leave.
