New Year’s Eve!!  The end of this 50th cursed year of maleficent occupation!!!

13:45  ‘Azzun agricultural gate.  The plaza in front of the gate is empty.  An elderly Palestinian came out very angrily, also at us standing beside it.  We were very sad to experience how the continuing occupation angers and embitters lives.  Other than him, no one else goes in or out for the next 15 minutes.  Two cars wait on the south side of the gate.  The drivers are preparing their documents.  Four soldiers in position.

14:20  Eliyahu gate.  Nothing to report.  We saw no one waiting or going through.

14:25  A military jeep stands at the entrance to ‘Izbet Tabib.

A jeep at the entrance to ‘Azzun, two soldiers beside it with weapons drawn, a third soldier and a driver in the jeep.

A soldier and driver in a military jeep at Qedumim.  A settler and his son, wearing yarmulkes, are having a good time on horseback – to our mortification.

14:40  Jit junction – a military jeep on the hill and a soldier at the junction.

14:45  An additional military jeep between Yizhar and Havat Gil’ad.

A police jeep stands at the soldiers’ position next to Burin.  They told us about an attempt to attack a soldier in position at Beita.  They said he was slightly wounded.

15:55  Huwwara.  There’s a traffic jam in Huwwara at this hour, to the north as well as to the south.  Three command cars with soldiers are part of it, and a UN vehicle.

A military command car with soldiers stands at the entrance to Yasuf.

16:05  Two soldiers behind concrete barriers guard the Ariel bus stop.

Two soldiers at the Haris junction traffic light and two more at the bus stop across the road.
