Afternoon

Natanya translating.

Huwwara 14.30 -
A large gathering at the entrance to the checkpoint.
A suspicious object had been found which turned out to be a forgotten parcel of clothes. As a result there was pressure at the entrance to Nablus. In the meantime the person who had forgotten the parcel was put into the isolation behind the cubicle where women are checked.  The reason given was that he had not identified himself as the owner of the parcel  and the secret service would question him.
Later another young man who is always detained joined him  without any explanation being given.
They were both freed at about 15.00.
Next to the isolation we found three bottles of coca cola filled with a yellow liquid which shows under what conditions people are held. The DCO representative A.  said that these bottles had been taken from the isolation and thrown outside. In any case the public services, except for the humanitarian area which is out of bounds anyhow, do not stand up to any minimal human criteria.

15.40 - A 13 year old boy arrived with his sports trainer and had to get to his home in Ramallah. He only had his birth certificate and did not have one of his parents with him nor any of their documents. He had to go back to Nablus where he knew no one but the DCO helped him to get through/.

At 16.30 we left.
