Another checkpoint at Dir-Saraf, about 3 cars in each direction. At the Road 60 junction another checkpoint with 5 vehicles. There is a red alert! A terrorist team on its way to a shopping mall in Tel Aviv. Towards he end of the watch the alert shofts to north Jerusalem. 8.20 Huwwara Taxi drivers say that yesterday, election day, passage of taxis into Nablus and out was permitted only from 7.00 -9.30 Later there were problems ad only Nablus residents were allowed in. At Huwwara south few people and no problems, they go around the turnstile. Check is rapid, no detainees. Huwwara north sparse traffic hee as well, a long line of cars. A wolfhound is sniffing the vehicles one by one. 3 detainees were we arrived and 8 when we left, most of them students, 2 from Qalandia, one from Ramallah. The commander says that even if they are “clean”, they can’t go through. Only an-Najah students are recognized. Men of 15-25 are still classified as security threats. 10.30 – Beit Furik Empty, only 4-5 waiting.On the way back two of the unannounced checkpoints are still there.
