South Hebron
Observers: Ella O (reporting) Liat The turn -off to Dharaiya from route 60 has been blocked by dirt barriers and rocks , instead of the gate that had been there before. Dura –al Fawwar junction is open to vehicles in both directions. Sheep's Crossing is open to pedestrians alone. The crossing has been narrowed again, since it was opened to allow the passage of army vehicles about a week ago. A hummer is parked by the Humanitarian Gate .Halhul-Hebron bridge is open to traffic –the ascent to it from route 35 is closed as usual. East Halhul junction is open to traffic.Only slight military activity is visible on the roads – a few jeeps and hummers. Along the sides of the road agricultural activity is in full swing, but because of the conditions under which it has to be done it looks as if it had emerged from the pages of a history book. We were 'privileged' to see harvesting with a sickle, harvesting of lentils by hand and even ploughing by means of a scratch plough pulled by a donkey. .
