(reporting)16:05At the Beit Iba checkpoint we got a welcome on our arrival: "You are in the way; don't stand over there…" Two detainees info-icon . We try to find out the reason for their detention from the soldiers. He answers us that he is busy and can't talk with us.16:402 adult men and a woman, from Beit Lid. The soldier doesn't allow them through and sends them to Al Badhan. Instead of arriving home in a matter of minutes, they must make a huge circuit. They try to explain to the soldier, but in vain. One of the men tries to go through anyway. The soldier brings him back, shouting at him "Yallah, yallah!"Two long lines of vehicles, as far as the eye can see. The line entering Nablus gets longer. An ambulance with flashing lights goes around the line. Waits a few minutes until the soldiers signal it to approach. It is thoroughly inspected and goes on its way. Vehicles of the UN, with license plates saying "UNICEF" wait in line and pass after a short questioning.17:005 soldiers gather and talk with each other while the traffic is meanwhile halted. The checkpoint is located on Route 60 near at the junction with Route 55, near the village of Jit. There was a checkpoint for vehicles passing between the north and south of the West Bank, which was abolished towards 2010. Since then, surprise checkpoints have been set up there from time to time with a police or Border Police vehicle, and vehicles and their passengers are inspected.

A perimeter checkpoint west of the city of Nablus. Operated from 2001 to 2009 as one of the four permanent checkpoints info-icon closing on Nablus: Beit Furik and Awarta to the east and Hawara to the south. A pedestrian-only checkpoint, where MachsomWatch volunteers were present daily for several hours in the morning and afternoon to document the thousands of Palestinians waiting for hours in long queues with no shelter in the heat or rain, to leave the district city for anywhere else in the West Bank.
From March 2009, as part of the easing of the Palestinian movement in the West Bank, it was abolished, without a trace, and without any adverse change in the security situation.
