Beit Iba, Sunday, 23.7.06 AMObservers: Naomi K, Orna P (reporting) 08:30 - 09:30Intolerable line into Nablus – 300 people waiting.Ten detainees.Among the detainees: a doctor from Nablus who wants to take a laptop from the other side of the checkpoint, a computer man who works in Tulkarm had come for a visit to Nablus and cannot go back to work, a dry cleaner with a torn ID – according to him a resident of Fundook, but the soldiers claim he lives in Nablus – a released convict resident in Jaffa who came to collect money in Nablus.The soldiers are not in control of the situation. We phone the Humanitarian Centre who promise help that does not arrrive. At 09:15 we see the DCO vehicle passing by, while he looks out and drives on. On the phone to the Centre we are told that the DCO claims there is no problem at Beit Iba. While we are there the line gets shorter, but does not vanish.We left behind us frustrated detainees. 09:45 Jit Junction – 39 cars waiting in line.
