Qalandiya
Summary: Regulations are being applied
very strictly at Qalandya since 11.9.03 (2 days after the suicide
attacks): Male West Bankers of all ages are denied passage
(including children, except when on their way to school). Permits
of all kinds are not respected (except for purely humanitarian
ones, such as matters of health). Women can pass only when they are
older than 50. A-Ram: Little movement of cars and pedestrians.
Qalandya south: Free passage northbound Qalandya north: Long queue
of cars, long wait, long queue of pedestrians. At 16:45 4 soldiers
return from Tora Bora with 25 detainees, lined up like prisoners of
war. The detainees are ordered to sit on the ground and their IDs
are collected. It takes about 2 hours until they are released and
sent back where they came from.
