Afternoon

1.45 - Silence, heavy like the Hamsin. Few vehicles are passing through and are inspected at the exit from Tulkarm.

Jubara, The Children's Gate
A car is leaving Jubara. The soldiers stop the young driver and
send him back to the village. According to the soldiers the driver had
brought with him a young passenger without a permit to enter the
village. While they were busy he had sneaked the passenger through the
checkpoint and had taken him into the village.  The soldiers take the
permit from the driver and insist on him searching for the young
passenger and bringing him back to them. The driver claims he does not
know where he is but goes back to the village.

3 illegals are detained. In answer to our question when they would
be released, the soldiers answer that the inspection of permits takes
longer today because of a flood of illegals.  Since the morning 70
illegals went back through the checkpoint. 560 checkpoints and road
blocks had not prevented their entry into Israel.

Anabta
14:45 -  The two check posts are manned. The entrance into Tulkarm
is free. At the exit there are about 20 vehicles. The inspection is at
random on both sides and the passage is quick.
