Checkpoint Beit Iba.  6.30 – 8.20

On the way to the checkpoint we see cars and workers at the Eliyahu gate and at the checkpoint of Qalqiliya.  Here are large Israeli flags to remind us that this is the Day of Remembrance. At Beit Iba it seems that there is a very long line of people at the checkpoint. When we arrived it turned out that people had been sent back 5 metres which meant that the line was not so long. Everyone was being checked and therefore there was pressure. Women do not know exactly where to stand and so there are lines in various directions. They do not understand why. 15 minutes later the line lets up. During the entire shift matters continue in such a fashion. Few people are leaving Nablus and all along the line people have their belts off and those coming out are fastening their belts.  When we go back one of the Palestinians asks us if tomorrow is the Day of Independence and when we say yes he wishes us a happy holiday. Strange and rather sad to hear.

Few cars pass steadily.

Anabta. 8.30 – 9.00  Few cars exiting or entering Tulkarm but we could not find out if the closureinfo-icon was already in
effect. At Ar Ras  and Jubara there was little movement of cars and nothing out of the ordinary so we left
