Morning

As a result of the works in wadi Nar checkoint, we found the place in a big confusion. We reccoment that people do not stop going there, and to make sure that the traffic moves there orderly.

06:55 Sheikh Saed

Traffic  of people moves . A young man who went through the checkpoint was hit strongly on his nose by the crousel, that stopped suddenly when he went through. The BP man shouted that it was his fault, and we tried to get involved he shouted at ustoo, saying that he will arrest us. The BP men claimed that there is some problem with the carousel, the Palestinian who went through claimed that he closed the carousel on him while going thorugh. The commander was N., who, according to the inhabitants is known as problematic.

We met again the old lady, an inhabitant of the neighborhood,   who has no permit, and tries to go through the checkpoint in order to visit her sick son in a hospital in A-Tour. According to her, the last time she saw him was about twenty days ago.
Two women, inhabitants of Sawahara, who have a one-time medical permit from a hospital in Sheikh Jarach, tried to go through the checkpoint, but were sent back towards Zeitim checkpoint.

The police station was completely empty. There were no people in the public area, except of policemen. We were surprised to find out that the place is guarded by civil guards, and not by policemen.

08:50 Wadi Nar

All  the shed that were in the place were taken down, and at this stage there were a few working vehicles in the empty lot and they started the substracture for the upgraded checkpoint.
There was a big confusion at the checkpoint. The soldiers were detaining many vans going on both directions (and those were released relatively quickly), while building works for the substructure were done parallelly.

When we arrived we found a van that was detained, according to the passengers, for about an hour, because one of the passengers, a young man, was taken for in inquest inside the caravan.

We tried to find out what happens with him, and understood that "he is detained because of security reasons, and it will take about one or two more hours". We told the new to the driver and the passengers of the van, and they decided to leave the place. The friend of the detainee stayed there, and he reported to us at least an hour an a half later, that he was still detained.
