07:25 Qalqiliya Checkpoint
Free passage of cars. Very thin traffic. The soldiers ignore us completely.
The passage to Azun village is open.
10:10 Anabta Checkpoint
Some taxi drivers are waiting. The soldiers hardly stop any cars. Very quiet.
On our way to Jubara we discover that the road to Safadin, which had been blocked for a long time with an earth roadblock, is open. A commercial van driver arriving from Safadin tells us that the road has been open for 3 weeks at least, that he has been on it carrying goods, and that now he was on his way to Shufa.
This is definitely good news. Are they keeping a promise made to the Americans?
10:45 Jubara Checkpoint
We are requested to present identity cards. We are forced to wait for the gate to Jubara to be opened for us, until the soldiers get the necessary approval.
10:55 Ar-Ras Checkpoint
Very very quiet. Some donkey carts and dogs go through. The soldiers are boiling alive in the heat, but they are smiling.
