Afternoon

Tura Checkpoint

Nothing was moving at the checkpoint beside the heavy rain and wind.

Barta’a Checkpoint, 15:45

The usual routine is back. Workers were returning from work in Israel. Some stopped at the kiosk to buy pastries or phone cards.

The landscaping at the checkpoint continues. Rows of oak and pine trees have been planted in the upper parking lot.

Two Palestinians who had arrived from Jenin and underwent checks in the terminal went from the sleeveinfo-icon to the upper parking lot. Two guards hurried to stop them, and Israeli policemen arrived immediately. Evidently, they were suspected of criminal activity. It was unclear to us whether they lived in the seamline zone or in areas A or B of the Palestinian Authority, or why they were not detained in the terminal before they entered the seamline zone.
