Afternoon

14:15 – Tura-Shaked Checkpoint

Two women wait in the shed on the Seamline Zone side.  A car picks up one of them.  We ask the second woman, a student in Jenin, where she wants to go.  She requests to go to Umm Reihan, but refuses to travel with us.  She will wait for the car to pick her up.

15:05 – Anin Checkpoint

Ten people and two tractors are waiting.  We ask our acquaintance, M., about the event in A’nin, in which a soldier broke into a home, threw a tear-gas bomb, causing a small child had to be hospitalized.  (Report from the Liaison and Coordination Administration, Etzion, 27.01.2020.)

M. answered our questions with reservation.  He says that there was an event like that 10 days ago and the boy is already OK.  He says that the soldiers entered the village because people broke through a breach in the separation fence.  We asked why they didn’t tell us.  He said that people were certain that we knew.  It was not exactly clear.

The soldiers came early and opened the checkpoint.  When we turned to continue on our way, four more people arrived.

15:30 –We pass by Barta’a Checkpoint. There is no chance of finding a parking space in the large lot, or along the sides of the road, where there are two more parking lots at the foot of the village, Zabada.

We continue to Ya’bed-Dotan and afterward to Hermesh Checkpoint.  The traffic flowed.

16:00 – Barta’a-Reihan Checkpoint, on the Seamline Zone side

At this hour, people return from work. The parking lot is bustling with people, mostly young, who are going home.  The turnstile at the end of the sleeveinfo-icon (the enclosed passage leading from the terminal to the shed in the parking lot), was slow relative to the number of workers.  From time to time a line formed, disappearing quickly.  People entered their cars or transportation vehicles and there were also those who walked to the parking lots, which were even further.

16:30 – On our way home, the guard at the vehicle checkpoint asked to check our back seat and the trunk of our car.  We had nothing to hide.
