Morning

06:50 – 07:35, Tura- Shaked Checkpoint

The Checkpoint is still closed.  There are already people waiting on the West Bank side, pedestrians and cars.

The soldiers arrive at 07:10, organize themselves and the first Palestinians leave at 07:20 (the official opening time is 07:00).  The passage is slow, one-by-one.  When we left, there were still people waiting in front of the turnstile on the West Bank side.  Usually, at this hour, all morning groups have passed through the checkpoint and have left.

07:45 – 08:20, Barta’a-Reihan Checkpoint

The upper parking lot is filled with people and cars; a good sign (a sign that they have passed through the terminal without many problems).  Also, opposite us, large groups of people have already gone up the sleeveinfo-icon (the enclosed passage from the terminal to the road) and crossed the terminal, in which 4 inspection windows are functioning.  The passage is quick.  People say “Good day,” and we also counted about 7 minutes’ passage for every 2 people. One of those who comes out tells us that his father (who is 60+), has a magnetic card that has expired. However, at his age, there is no need for a magnetic card and he always passes through without a problem.  Today they delayed him and would not let him pass.

When we return to our car, the upper parking lot has already emptied from almost everyone who was there when we arrived.
