Morning
flag of Israel on the Palestinian side

06.15 Agricaltural gate A’anin.

Not a living soul…

A short while after us a military vehicle comes flying, brakes with a shriek inside the checkpoint, but no soldiers come out.

06.30. The soldiers open the gate, take up their positions, and shortly afterwards A’anin people start passing the gate. In groups of three, about 40 people and 3 tractors passed. Among them were two young women with a babyinfo-icon, accompanied by an older woman dressed smartly. She approached and shook hands with us. They were on their way to a family visit.

07.00. Tura-Shaked checkpoint.

The checkpoint is open. At this hour there are small numbers passing in both directions. A tractor passes to the seamline zone, parks, and the driver returns on foot to Palestine. On the tractor are farming tools and containers of tobacco plants. After a while a boy crosses the gate and approaches the tractor. He explained to us that the driver forgot something and that is why he returned.

A number of senior schoolboys and girls pass. Younger ones have a new school in their village and don’t have to cross the checkpoint twice daily any more.

07.25. Barta’a-Rehan checkpoint.

Very few cars and transits at this hour in the upper parking lot (seamline zone). Also the parking lot at the entrance to the checkpoint on the Palestinian side is not full. The truck parking lot is full of trucks waiting. A few workers come up the sleeveinfo-icon exiting the checkpoint.

A transit coming from the West Bank stops in the vehicle checkpoint. A group of Palestinian women come out, their documents are checked one by one, they return to their vehicle and continue in it for it to be checked at the station for checking cars.

07.50. We leave the checkpoint to return home.
