Afternoon

15:15 – Tura – Shaked Checkpoint

When we arrived we found the checkpoint closed, and several cars and a truck were waiting to cross.  Several people were waiting to cross to the West bank.  Cars and people were also waiting there.  waiting there.  At 15:30 soldiers from the military police arrived to open the checkpoint.  They said that today the checkpoint had closed at 14:30 and would reopen after an hour and would be open until 23:00.  This was because of Ramadan.  We wanted to talk to the District Coordination and Liaison Office, but there was no answer.  People complained that the crossing in the morning was supposed to begin at 07:00, but in actuality they only cross at 08:00.  They also complained that in the afternoon crossing also begins late.

16:00  Yaabed–Dotan Checkpoint

An army vehicle was parked in the checkpoint.  When we drove up two soldiers approached us and asked who we were and what we were doing at the checkpoint.  Before I managed to answer one soldier said he knew and would explain to his comrade.

16:30 – Barta’a-Reihan Checkpoint

There were not a lot of cars on the Palestinian side.  Evidently everyone was hurrying home because of the holiday.  There were also fewer workers in the sleeveinfo-icon on the seamline zone side.   We drove home through Harish.
