15.40. Turah-Shaked checkpoint.

A number of cars pass quickly. The checkpoint is quiet, as usual.  Next to the large pit bloom irises and masses of dianthus.

16.20. Y’abed-Dotan checkpoint.

Traffic flows without delay. Many transport vehicles pass in both directions .Two groups of soldiers descend in turn from their jeeps to ask what we are doing, and mainly to worry about our welfare. They describe the security situation as being very dangerous (which we had not noticed ourselves). One of them, very young, tells us that it is forbidden for us to be there, while another, older and more mature, tells him quietly that it is permitted. This time we met particularly pleasant soldiers. It happens …

16.45. Barta’a-Reihan checkpoint.

As usual at this hour all the carparks are full. Transport vehicles make rounds from the checkpoint, mainly to Jenin and its surroundings. The driver A.Kh. [?], of the previous report, tells us that he delivered a complaint to the Palestinian Police about the settlers of Havat Gilead who threw stones last week, injuring his mother in her face. He actually drives passengers to Hebron. This is a 4-hour journey that passes 12 checkpoints, some of which are manned. The peddlers who were banished last week from the container are not present at all today, neither on the road. People say that they have been banished altogether. Also the wind today is very strong and cold.
