15:30 – Tura-Shaked Checkpoint
Minimal traffic at the checkpoint, as usual. A surreal picture: a child of about 3, in a blue velvet dress, holds a large teddy bear by the ear and marches with confidence through the sleeveinfo-icon (wire-enclosed corridor leading to the terminal), ahead of her mother. They are picked up by a car that is waiting for them. Such is the “fabric of life”for them.

16:00 – Ya’bed-Mevo Dotan Checkpoint

Cars zig-zag between the blocks of cement, alternating in two directions.  On the way to the checkpoint, south of it, a wide field of white anemones. Sahel Ya’bed, which is not Emek Dotan, is charming.

16:20 – Barta’a-Reihan Checkpoint
All the parking lots are full and we have no choice but to park on the road next to an abundance of stones painted red and white, despite the fact that the police are wandering around the area. Many workers arrive and are swallowed up by waiting vehicles. The little grocery under the blue plastic sheet opens to a pleasant market where sweets and drinks and pastries are sold, as well as and fashionable jeans (!). There isn’t a hint of the latest events in Jenin. Elijha, who is in charge of requests for permits for Palestinians, receives 3 more requests.

17:15 – We leave.
