Hebron, Gush Etzion Police  station, Beitar Illit

The Edoraim settlement is located in a building named after Dror Weinberg ("House of Dror"), an officer who was killed in an IDF operation in Hebron years ago. The fortified building was used as an emergency center for the settlements of South Hebron Hills, and a "citizenised" long ago.

Hebron. All IDF positions are covered with posters of the settlers. This is of course illegal. The entire IDF has been undergoing a series of settler education here for years, among other things through the hot kitchens that serve the soldiers everywhere...

The construction boom continues without a break.

"Freedom House": another building purchased by the settlers, on the west side of Shuhada Street, not far from the Pharmacy checkpoint. The big sign is right on the street, but the ladder leading up indicates that the house itself is probably inside, I didn't risk trying to go up to it.

A settler boy tries to catch a ride with us from Beit Hadassah towards Tel Rumeida. Our Palestinian friend from the grocery store in front of Tel Rumeida recognizes the boy: he walks around with a stick and hits Palestinian girls.

In front of the grocery store on the roof of the building, solar panels for electricity, financed by some European organization.

buses full of American Jewish tourists, all religious, including the elderly, disabled, and young families with babies, go up to Tel Rumeida, then visit the museum of Beit Hadassah, all under close police escort.. Where is the left that should have come here en masse, but prefers to shut itself in its comfort zone, thus turning its back on reality here? I take solace in meeting a group of young people under the guidance of a member of Breaking the Silence. Of course, we are not allowed to go up to Tel Rumeida with all the arrogance which can be shown us. The Bnei Avraham group, volunteered to help Issa Amro build terraces near his house (the terraces, by the way, were destroyed by settlers the very next day).

At the urging of Hanna Barag, who patrols the area on behalf of the Yesh Din organization, I went to the Gush Etzion police station, which is rather strangely located at the northern entrance of Beitar Illit, right in front of the Palestinian village of Husan), in the compound of the Beitar Illit municipality, the fire services and a first aid station. Hanna told us about Palestinians who need this police station and who need our intervention to get proper service. The day I was there I saw nothing. The policewoman at the guard booth at the entrance was very kind, she called another policeman who came out to me (identified by his tag, David Vanuno. He said that there are currently no Palestinians at the station and refused to give me more information about what usually happens here. I told him that our organization would come to check the place from time to time.
