Morning

16:00 – 17:00

16:00 – Tura Checkpoint

Few cars or people pass in two directions.  We speak with a worker who returns from work in the settlement of Shaked, who says that Trump’s plan doesn’t change anything; the Occupation continues.

16:15 - Barta’a Checkpoint

Despite Trump’s plan, the world continues to behave as usual.  Many cars of contractors travel before us and attest that many, many workers return to the West Bank from work in Israel.  Hundreds of workers go down through the sleeveinfo-icon (the enclosed passage to and from the checkpoint), loaded with equipment and purchases and stop at the Shekem kiosk to buy rugalach for Shabbat.  Students return from their studies in the West Bank and pass through the new inspection machines in the terminal.  No workers are seen.

A plasterer from Anin who works in Tel Aviv tells us that in the mornings, despite the new identification instruments, the crossing is slow and very crowded between 05:00 to 06:30, because of the single conveyer that makes examines the inside of objects and belongings.

Discussions about Trump’s Plan of the Century, raises mocking smiles among everyone.
