South Hebron Hills
South Hebron Hills, Sunday 23.4.06, AMTHe watchers are: Michal Tz, and Chagit B. (reporting)We have some stories to tellRamadin CheckpointThe time is 6.45 in the morning one and a half kilometers from the wall the place is deserted only 5 soldiers are there and it seems they don't like us. It seems to us the checkpoint is not needed at all there it only makes the life of the Palestinians harder. SamoaWe saw some Palestinian cars coming from Rd 60 to the town a military car was chasing them but didn't go into the place and we were happy that this time they made it.HebronThe town is depressing as usual but no special events, near the cave they stoped 2 people for 10 minutes. At Tel Rumeda they noticed that our driver is an Arab and shouted that he is not allowed to be there we were so angry and called the brigade commander, in order to get reed of us they relies ed the Palestinians and we left. Halhul-Hebron bridgeFor a change something normal, a trip of school children they watched the glass factory and the soldiers "protected" them. the drivers told us they went trough 3 checkpoints but didn't wait long.Tha Sussia Shepherds The scene is very pastoral, last week one of them was arrested because he came to close to the army area , we asked how they are and they thanked us for helping them to relies the man. Bet Yatir checkpointWe found there 4 buses with 200 Pilgrims they were on the way to Israel and were st oped for half an hour god knows why, we suggested to the soldiers to check their pas ports and let them go, they did it after 15 minutes, so why they had to wait for for us to do it? Roads and walls On roads 60 and 317 they are finishing the walls and barriers in order to prevent the Palestinians to get there and protect the settlers. Actually they are forcing the Palestinian farmers to work in the old fashioned ways because they can't use modern machines with all this barriers and this causes only more hatred.
