Etzion DCO: She arrived at the DCO at her scheduled time, but the soldiers were having a meal
As soon as we arrived, a man came to ask for help. Up to a short time ago he had had a permit to work. Suddenly he has become “prevented.” He does not know why and said that no one in his family has a problem. He thinks someone might have wanted to make trouble for him but said he had no problem with anyone that he knew of . Sylvia said he should send her his ID hoping that after the elections something would change.
There were only about 8 people in the waiting room. Evidently there had been many more who had come for the magnetic card but they had been sent home empty handed….and remember next week the DCO will be closed. A woman who had paid 230 shekel for an appointment arrived at the hour appointed but had to wait as the soldiers had gone for their hard earned meal. We were also told that there had been no soldiers at the windows during the day. Five men had been called in for questioning including one who had just come out of jail.
We again noticed that even though we cannot help them in any way, they always receive us pleasantly once they realise why we are there and thank us.
