Tarqumiya, Wednesday 2.3.05, AMObservers: Tzipi T. and Shenunit (reporting)we arrived to the barrier at 5:50, and already there were tens of palestinians which had passed the barrier earlier and were waiting for their transportation to work. The palestinians told us that the passage was smooth and with no problems, and that people were passing since 4:50. Many cars drove through the barrier, it felt almost like the security guards in the mall – opening the trunks and quickly approving the passage. The barrier commander, H’, is telling us that in the last days there are much more palestinians with approvals, probably because of some relief. It was hard to estimate the ammount of people moving through the barrier. At some point a car was stopped with 4 people in it, palestinians, 3 from kfar haras and 1 from jerusalem. they waited aside. in about 10 minutes the police arrived and took them to investigation. the barrier commander told us that they were arrested on the base of inteligence information about the car. he also said that he could see that the approvals and the certifficates were faked. Other than that the transformation was quick and without any problems.
