Entry into Israel has been stopped for two days now. We received lots of angry and disbelieving phone calls on Friday from people with valid entry permits who were not granted entry. We of course know that there is a universal restriction on movement …Checkpoint 300Almost completely desolate. A hospital nurse and a special needs teacherחינוך מיוחד went through on their way to Jerusalem. 3 girl/female students with blue IDs went through to Bethlehem.Beit Jallah: No Israeli soldiers/personnel at the checkpoint. Three taxi drivers waiting for passengers were glad to talk to us. Lots of taxis going in the Bethlehem direction. We visited a sewing workshop close by. We met the owner – a young man with lots of initiative. . He complained that he can’t sell the clothes he manufactures in Israel. Amongst other things his age is against him. Some of the workers, male and female, told us their problems and we gave them phone numbers to contact where appropriate.Route 60Very little traffic. Rolling checkpoint not in its “usual” place.Entry to Halhul:Almost no trafficWildnerness and sorrow – for each and all.
