Maqam Salman al-Farsi
This maqam (sacred gravesite) is named after Salman Al-Farsi, a close friend of the Prophet Mohammad. The holy structure has 2 floors and is 400 years old, surrounded by ancient oak trees. It stands abandoned in the heart of the Yitzhar settlement. The building is centuries-old, surrounded by ancient oak trees. The site is now officially called “Alonei Yitzhar” (Hebrew for “oaks of Yitzhar”) and has been approved as a nature reserve. Access to it is through a gate inside the Jewish settlement Yitzhar and forbidden for Palestinians
