Etzion DCO: So who will accompany the child to the hospital?
The waiting room is full…amazingly there is someone at the window calling out names.
A man arrived with his sister-in-law. Her son of eight years has a genetic blood disease and every few weeks has to have a blood transfusion. But she has broken her leg and cannot accompany him to Hadassa Hospital. He is not a blood relation of the first line and has therefore been refused. Why not make it more difficult for people who are already under stress. Her husband is one of the few who is lucky enough to be working so he cannot come. We suggested that one of the grandfathers should go with him.
We made a number of deliveries. At the one place we were waiting where there were taxi drivers and we said we were from Machsomwatch and they immediately said, “Sylvie.”
Keren remarked, as we have so written before, on the disorderly state of the waiting room. She will send a separate report as her view of the DCo and also describing how she collected clothing which she again brought to Etzion. The family brought us a plateful of Palestinian goodies to thank us.
