Anata:

There was a tremendous backup of traffic of vehicles trying to return to the other side of the checkpoint.  The traffic jam was made worse by the  many school vans that were in the area at the time.  We were at Anata at about 3:00 p.m.  It should be mentioned that the real problem in Anata is not at this time or during the day, but rather in the early hours of the morning.

I (RW) live in French Hill and can see what is going on at the checkpoint from my bedroom window.  Starting at about 4:00 a.m., there is a huge backup of vehicles proceeding at a turtle’s pace.  Within minutes, horns start beeping, invariably followed by shouting (through a loudspeaker) by the troops on duty.  This is what people have to go through daily.

Isawiyya

Checkpoint near the gas station.  Border police are on duty overlooking the checkpoint.  Cement blocks allow for one way traffic.  Vehicles proceed through, but slowly and with delays.

Isawiyya:

Checkpoint at Mount Scopus.  There is now a “bukta” there.  It was not there last week.  The road from Isawiyya is blocked by cement barriers but there is considerable pedestrian movement back and forth.

Isawiyya:

Checkpoint on road leading out to Maaleh Adumim

Here too there is now a bukta.  Cars can go back and forth but one at a time  Just a single lane.

Al Ezariya:

Nothing out of the ordinary.
