Bethlehem, Al Khadr, DCO Ezyon Wed, 10/5/06 AM Observers:Yoshka, driver, Rena R, Drora P, Rahel M, reporting7:00 am Bethlehem CPAbout 40 men and women are waiting for pick up to go to work. We do not encounter any problems.7:30 am Al KhadrFull of taxis and people. A man approached us to say that he went to court because of speeding and the court was closed on the appointed day. He is waiting for another summons.8:00 am DCO Ezyon DCO:There are at least 100 people waiting. Some were here yesterday, and were told that their numbers will be called first. After 15 minutes there is an announcement that the computer is not working. At 9:45 when we left it still was not working. We called every available number, but received no positive answers. We were asked to contact Dalia Basa to help four nurses (two men and two women) receive their magnetic cards to enable them to go to work. They were here yesterday. We were unable to reach her. We took the details and gave instructions to many men who have been unable to receive a magnetic card. One man who has a magnetic card and a permit to work was told that his employer from Rishon Lezion must come to this DCO to request his employment. We contacted “Taasuka”, but there was no answer. At 9:15 someone came out and asked for all the ID’s of men who were waiting to be handed work permikts that are waiting for them. About 20 men rushed forward. Since the DCO in Hevron has been closed, the applicants must come to Etzion, and the service here has not been enlarged in any way and the computer is frequently not working. This situation at the Ezyon DCO should be publicized in every media and in every way. It is an embarrassment to one and all.
