Bethlehem, El Nashash, EzyonSunday, July 2, AMObservers: Sylvia P, Ofra B,Chana A (reporting)6:20: Bethlehem CP: Lots of people outside and still lots inside. Four check booths were open but this is still not enough on Sunday morning. The terminal had opened at 5:30. The lines were long and the men were fed-up. However, by 7:00 the end was in sight and we left.7:10 El Nashash: Lots of cars, many people crossing. Some came by to enlist our help. We delivered urgent police related documents to a delegate of a delegate of one of Ada’s clients. Afterwards, at Ezyon, we did a service for a taxi driver who had to pay NIS 1000 in order to get his license back. In the afternoon someone called to enlist our help for his son who was arrested in Yafo (illegal presence, shabach). Our MachsomWatch services have certainly branched out significantly.8:10 Ezyon: We came just too late to be there when the numbers were handed out. It transpired however, that about fifty numbers were given out and when we went inside the waiting shed at 9:30, less than ten men had been taken care of. There weren’t many people waiting for the magnetic card (some must have gone to do other things, coming back to catch their number’s turn later), but the line is very slow. Outside there were dozens of people waiting to get their workers’ permit.
