Cliff Hotel
Abu Dis, ContainerThurs. March 24.05 PMObservers: Drora P., Nurit S. (reporting) Noga (guest)Abu Dis: We visited the Cliff Hotel and noticed two jeeps parked inthe yard although we didn’t see any soldiers. The place was desolate. As usual the street leading to the Pishpash gate had people climbing inall sorts of places. At the Pishpash gate, it seemed that the monastarygate was closed and there were people climbing around the wall. Wedidn’t see any army presence. We drove to Wadi Nar thruogh Ma’ale Adumim but then doubled back to AbuDis and drove to the CP at Wadi Nar on the route the taxis take. Ijust wanted to show the route to Drora and Noga. It seems that thereis work to improve this miserable road. When we arrived at the Container a soldier approached us and told us thatit was dangerous for us to drive along the Palestinain road and thatwe are safer to drive on the settler’s road. Who knows? I alwaysthought it was more dangerous on the settler’s road. There was quite a bit of traffic but it flowed pretty quickly. Onecar was detained when we arrived and it received the IDs back prettyquickly after we asked about it. We saw no pedestrian detainees. Onecar was turned back. School Children waved to us from a bus. Localpeople stopped to say hello and invite us for tea, but we declined, wanting to stay at the CP until the traffic line disappeared. Ataround 5:30 it did disappear.
