Ar-Ram, Qalandiya, Tues. 19.07.05 a.m.Observers: Yehudit E, Helena M., Chava J (reporting)We went out at 6:30 and got to Ar-Ram at 6:55. There we met Jana B. who arranged a meeting with Tzidki from the Command center of the Jerusalem Envelope. The events at the checkpoint were usual, aside from the presence there of dog handlers (with a dog) who checked serveral of the vehicles and created long waits in the line for vehicles. There were also delays as a result of the change of guard. The only unusual happening with which Tzidki dealt (after Yehudit referred it to him) was that of a man with an orange i.d. (but from the El Akev area whose residents, according to a ruling of the Supreme Court are allowed passage to Jerusalem). The man was allowed to pass after his address was checked.8:05 We got to Qalandiya. The pedestrian crossing was in order. There was a line of cars which had to wait approximately 20 minutes to get through. Hannah travelled to the Shufat and Anata checkpoints with Tzidki. At the Shuafat checkpoint she reported that Golan C was the commander of the checkpoint and was barking as usual, even though the traffic moved quickly with no problems. At Anata, there was an officer and two soldiers in a hummer which transported people. People from the north were not allowed to cross.
