including Sheikh Saed
Sheikh Saed, Zeitim CP, The Container Monday, 19.03.2007, P.M.Noa A-Y., Judy O.,Sheikh Saed: 15:00 – Very few people. The soldier responsible for the checkpoint said that we could not go over to the other side. He said that it is up to his discretion. After an argument we crossed over. He also said that it is forbidden to take over merchandise – this also was up to his discretion…At the grocery store we were told that that someone was supposed to be coming to observe the area in view of the court decision – but didn’t know when. The Pishpash – empty.Zeitim CP – More or less empty. We met a young man who told us that his friend had been detained in a room since 13:30. Apparently when the friend got to the window the girl soldier was chatting on the phone and he had to wait. He had said to her that he didn’t have time that he was late for work. She thought that was rude and put him in the room till 16:30 – till soon after we arrived. As we waited outside we could easily hear (through all the the thick glass) the girl constantly shouting roughly at every Palestinian, man or woman. We reported this to Elisha who said that he would deal with it immediately. She did in fact leave the window and was replaced by a pleasant girl a few minutes later and the boy was released. But it was clear that she would probably return the next day. The boy received a notification to come the next day for interrogatio (of course). We gave him our telephone number in case he needed us to confirm the complaint but we didn’t hear from him. His friend wanted to lodge a complaint but we didn’t succeed in getting the name of the girl soldier. And with whom could he lodge the complaint? Two women who came out said that the shouting was constant and daily. The Container – Few cars. Checking was done quickly.
