Shekh Saed, Abu Dis, The ContainerThursday, 15.06.2006, PMDaniel B., Dvora G. ( reporting)Shekh Saed : 15:30 – At the CP a group of soldiers stood under the shade while a Palestinian was sitting in the sun not far away from them. As we approached the man, we heard the soldiers ridiculing about Machsom-Watch in various voices. We asked the Palestinian why he was sitting in the sun and he answered that he is not allowed to sit neither at the shade nor at the other side. We turned to the soldiers and got the same order: “stay in the sun”. Another shift came, the man got back his card and after waiting for two hours was allowed to go.Some women and children crossed through the twisting way.Abu Dis: 16:30 – In the pishpash near the monastery people passed undisturbed.Container: 17:00 – workers are returning as usual at this hour. Pedestrians had no problem. Cars are detained from time to time and then long queues form on both directions. A soldier approached us politely and explained that there are warns and that “they are creating all the mess for themselves”, meaning that “they” are driving on the main road where 2 lorries can’t pass on both directions and therefore “they” are the ones to blame.
