Sheikh Saed, Abu-Dis, Zeitim CP, Al-Ezariya, Te containerTuesday, 15.08.2006, AM bservers: Hana A. Ora K. Michaela R. (reporter)Sheikh Saed – From the checkpoint northwards there is a ditch that was dug yesterday, and it splits the slope down to the wadi. This is probably the foundation for building the wall. If that is so, then in contrast to Supreme Court decision this feature will disconnect Sheikh Saed from the world. Two soldiers are patrolling the ditch. Two BP soldiers and a woman soldier with a dog stand at the checkpoint, and some more are walking in the streets of the village. People are waiting patiently by the barbed wire and come to be checked one by one. Some pass, others don’t. The traffic is thin. A single shot heard is heard from the village, cutting the quietness.Abu-Dis – It is as quiet as a grave. Not a living soul in the streets. By the old Pishpash we saw a soldier in the observation point, but we did not see people trying to pass.Zeitim CP – People are coming, but not in numbers that we saw in the past. Only one checkpoint is active. Waiting time – fourteen minutes. Men exit with their belts in their hands.Al-Ezariya – Taxis are detained every once in a while, most cars pass without being checked. The Container – About five cars are detained when we arrived. They are released in a short time except one transit that was there after we left. When we were there, at any moment, we saw four cars detained. Some of the drivers were told only to stand but the BP soldier did not bother to come take their documents. Some of them went when it seemed right to them. Just so: stop, stand, burn your time. There are two detainees in the shed.
