(reporting)colour=red>06:30 – 07:00 Traffic was moving well, all was quiet.09:00 – 09:30 An elderly woman in tears, was begging to be allowed to enter the village to visit her daughter who had undergone surgery.The checkpoint commander, who’d seen us talking to the soldiers standing at the barrier, came over and explained very patiently , that he couldn’t let her through because she had no permit. That, he said, she might perhaps be able to obtain from the Palestinian District Coordinating Office (DCO).Once again — we were witness to a decision by the checkpoint commander which totally ignored any concern for being humane. We had to leave the woman sitting at the gate.
