Ephraim Gate (Shlomit, Netta, Maya) – a trickle of workers, most of people haven’t had a chance to renew their expired work-permits. An MP says she’s been here since 04:30, a worker say he got out at six. At the back-to-back exit (Irtah) vehicles are waiting on both sides. At five to seven a soldier says the gate will open at seven, and drives away in his Hummer. Jubara checkpoint (Ruti, Ella, Elinoar) is quiet. A short line of vehicles out of Tulkarm, the underpass (seen from above) doesn’t seem to be crowded. Up in the village the former children’s gate is closed, but a Hummer with soldiers is standing by.
