Jubarra Monday February 9th 2004 PM Orly P., Vivian K., Adi L., Meirav b., Tami C. and a guest. We reached the school gate at 13.30 the gate was locked and the children had already passed. A pity. On the way back we stopped at the teacher’s home to depose some clothes. At the checkpoint we saw 12 detainees. We spoke to the commander whom we knew from last week, and shortly after the detainees were released. We split into two groups, one in the northern section, the other on the Tulkarem side. The traffic moved smoothly on the whole. There was a problem with two Palestinian journalists, who claimed to have gone through by car in the morning into Tulkarem and now are forbidden passage home to Nablus. Although we asked the commander to help them and he was obliging on the whole, he said he could not allow them to drive back by car without a car permit. We tried to contact Kamil, but he was in a meeting. Suggested we call the DCO. We reached Benny and he promised to try and deal with the matter. The two journalists however gave up and returned to Tulkarem. At 15.30 we moved on to Irtah (700) gate there was a line of some 8 trucks but the traffic moved.Best Tami.
