A teacher complained that she had waited a long time both at Qalandiya and here.The soldiers refuse to allow an old sick man to pass even though he has a blue id. They demand that he summons an ambulance to get to the hospital. We tried to speak to the soldier and afterwards saw that a solution had been found. A man who had an appointment at Hadassah Ein Kerem was told to go through the checkpoint of Qalandiya. He complained that he would be late and was allowed to pass.8.00 – Qalandiya A police jeep stands on the Israeli side and checks passing cars. The soldier refuses to tell us why another checkpoint has been set up. We spoke to one of the drivers from Jerusalem. It took him an hour to get through and he came late to the school at Talpiot. He asked us to publish the tribulations which they undergo each day. Marwan, the teacher of a trade school lives in the eastern part of the city and also complains of harassment. The parking lot is full of Palestinian cars, people who have passed through the checkpoint.8.30 – At the 5th lane are 13 people who are waiting for the District Coordinator’s Office to open at night so as to obtain permits. It took us 15 minutes to pass through. The woman soldier was rude and loud-voiced.
