(reporting)6:00 – 8:00Closure.Pedestrian inspection post: A farmer whose lands are close to his home but on the other side of the fence, tells us that he is required to make a detour of 25 kilometers to get to his fields and soldiers do not always let him in.Another farmer complains that to get to his lands, located 10 minutes away from his home, he needs to pay NIS 50 for a ride back and forth, because he is required to cross through Rihan.Quite a few farmers who were separated from their lands arrive at this CP. They all have agriculture permits which allow them to go to the other side.Vehicle inspection post: Three cars are awaiting inspection. 50 meters away from the post, drivers are instructed to lift their shirts, roll up their pants and only then are they allowed to proceed.An Israeli Arab wants to bring in his car a television set and some work tools. He is allowed in without the equipment. He gets angry and so does the female soldier at the post. In the end he gives the equipment to another person and drives through.Settlers’ cars pass by without slowing down, the barrier is lifted right away, so as not to waste a minute of their precious time.The line of the other cars advances slowly, this despite the simultaneous inspection of two cars at a time.People arriving from the Palestinian side appear fatigued, but they all greet us kindly.Employees of the carpet factory located in the Shahak industrial zone try to go through this CP.
