Rihan, Tuesday, February 14, 2006, AMObservers: Hedvah H., Yocheved G. (reporting)10.00-11.30A few cars with agricultural produce are waiting for passage. Today they are allowed only to transport vegetables and eggs.A car whose owner always transports tobacco and plastic (“nylon”, or clear plastic sheets) was not allowed to go through. The “passage of plastic” has to be arranged in advance. After asking at the District Coordination Office (DCO), we were told that it has to be arranged in advance with the coordinator from the Palestinian DCO, who works in conjunction with the Israeli DCO. After some more questioning of Efrat at the DCO, the Palestinian was told that he will be able to transport the plastic only the day after tomorrow.Today, the cars with produce can only go through once. (There is no “back to back” here, according to the CP commander.) When we asked what’s new and why there aren’t any detainees, the soldier in the hut, the one who opens and closes the gate, answered that today is an ordinary day.
