Rihan, Shaked, Tuesday, February 7, 2006, AM Observers: Tami S. (reporting) and guest, Ayalah Shaked, 07.10-07.40 07.20: The children are beginning to go through. The younger pupils go through immediately as a group. The older pupils go through one by one. The soldiers yell at the pupils who have already passed, telling them to go on their way and not to crowd together on the other side of the gate.07.40: All of them have gone through. Rihan, 07.45- 08.50 There is a steady but thin stream of pedestrians through the terminal. We are asked to stand outside the terminal. It is very hard for us to see exactly what is going on there from this observation point; but especially at a distance, from all the tiny details, and when we did not observe unusual occurrences, it becomes clear to us that the CP routine is really horrible. Young and old, men and women (most of whom we recognize) go daily through barred paths, iron gates, carousels, magnometers and soldiers with weapons at the ready. Every day their possessions are taken off them, and they are required to present documents and pieces of paper that make the difference as to whether they will be allowed to pass through or not.A soldier at the vehicle CP reads out to the owners of the commercialvehicles which goods can be transported today.
