Shaked, Rihan, Wednesday, February 22, 2006, PMObservers: Bruria, Tirza (reporting13:30 – 15:00 Shaked, 13:45Nobody here at this hour. The schoolchildren have already passed. We prepared to go but suddenly six older children (grade 10 or 11) appeared, and quickly arranged themselves in line and passed after a brief document check.A farm worker with a donkey went through at the last minute as the gate closed. Rihan, 14:15 We descended into the sleeve, but had not managed to enter the terminal when a military policeman jumped up and announced on a loudspeaker heard in the whole building that MachsomWatch women are requested to leave. We stood at the exit and waited to see how long it took to go through the terminal (about 10 minutes), and for a chance to exchange a few words with the people coming out.At the vehicle checkpoint, we were received by the commander who told us that his orders were that no Israelis were to come through the sleeve, and so we have to go up to the checkpoint commander who will attach a soldier to us for our protection. Any contact with Palestinians will only be through a fence that separates for our security: in the sleeve, the terminal, the shed or the Palestinian parking lot.
