On the way to the DCO we see over a hundred people working on the road which will transport the Lords of the Land in four lanes. There were about 12 people when we arrived at about 13.15 . We were told that there were many people inside and that, in the beginning, two windows were open and the one closed. As also happened last week.

We saw a picture of the door of his house on the mobile phone of someone who was waiting at the DCO. In the photo of the door  you can see how the army  broke the lock to get in. But for the sheer pleasure of it they also broke two windows. These are the doors belonging to a man who has been called in for questioning.  He was not at home when the army broke in, only his father in the 60’s. The army came in the early hours of the morning and simply battered the door down. It probably took more energy than they had to just  knock on the door.. The man has been waiting since 9 o’clock and this was past one.

We asked one or two people if they would give us their phone number as there is  no point in our staying  for long periods. Only the Palestinians have sufficient leisure time to wait until the army finds time in their busy work schedule to interview them. Such is the atmosphere of Big Brother is watching you that people refuse to do so even though we tell them that we  not mention their names or give any details.

A  man who has diabetes has  been here since 9am and cannot stay inside for long periods  Nor can he go in and out continually. So he brought a bottle for his needs.

So there is nothing much to this report…..a visit by the army in the dead of night, people are scared to tell us anything and a man with diabetes……but this is the mirror of the lives of the Palestinians. We tell them that the only thing we can do to help them is to write reports which go all over the world to human rights groups so that people know what is happening here.

But they still thank us for coming and, often when they see  me , Natanya,  having difficulty  walking, a man will come to give me his arm.
