Etzion DCO: Who profits from "selling" DCO appointments?

Place: Etzion DCO
Observers: Shlomit Steinitz, Netanya Ginsburg (written and photographed)
Jul-27-2026
| Morning

A person arrived with a form that was given to him after his driver’s license was taken from him. He was supposed to arrive at the DCO yesterday, but he would have stopped in Hebron. Was he given advance notice of this? He arrived today and went up to the police station above the DCO who sent him here. There is no one by the window, and anyway the area that leads to the offices is dark. He showed us this form andwe couldn’t find a phone number to contact them.  No phone number!

Everyone at the DCO tells us that they  buy the line at the DCO from someone we couldn’t get his name. 170 shekels in addition to what you pay for the magnetic card. Both the last time we were here and today,  there was noone who managed to schedule a meeting without the mysterious broker. And we ask again: Who benefits from it?

A man who has a problem with the Palestinian Authority, both economically and in terms of construction. He did not have  a particularly respectable opinion  of the Palestinian Authority. We gave him St. Ave’s  phone  number and suggested that he take a lawyer from Bethlehem.
