Three positions are open; long lines; angry Palestinians who have waited many hours while the computer was down due to some error.  Meanwhile a fourth position is opened.  An old blind man accompanied by his grandson, on their way to St. John's Hospital is not allowed to cross because the boy has brought a copy of his birth certificate, but the original is required.  We asked to summon the DCO representative -- a policeman arrived instead and ordered us vehemently to move away and stand by the wall.  Eventually he heard the problem and allwed the old man and his grandson to cross.
