Trans. Judith Green

5:30

When we arrived, in the pouing rain and freezing cold of Qalandiya, we were pleased to see that the line was not so long, in spite of the fact that only 3 crossings were active.  The line increased very quickly, and later the Humanitarian gate opened.  A policeman jointed the representatives of the DCO and checked the permits;  he was happy to inform the workers  that no one under the age of 60 has the right to stand in the Humanitarian gate and managed to spread an 'educational' atmosphere by his presence, teaching the Palestinians about order, in case, by chance, someone standing in line might move a bit and not notice it.

Around 7:30, the stream of workers and students decreased, and the checkpoint for those with blue identity cards worked quickly and even the vehicles went through quickly.
