Afternoon

15:00 Anin checkpoint

Closed today due to the Holiday.

There are many military vehicles on the roads.

15:15  Tura-Shaked checkpoint

Only a few vehicles pass. Pedestrians in their Holiday attire cross on both sides. Children carry gifts. One child's toy rifle, which he's received as a holiday present, was confiscated.

The checkpoint opened an hour later than usual, at 08:00.

15:45  Rihan-Barta'a checkpoint

The upper car park is full of vehicles bearing Israeli license plates. Apparently many Israeli Arabs had crossed to the West Bank for family holiday visits.

Vehicles and pedestrians, families loaded with gifts, cross on both sides. One of those returning from the West Bank, an Israeli Arab from West Barta'a, tells us that his daughters, who had married residents of the West Bank and now live there, could not obtain a visitor's passage permit to visit their family; thus he had to go and visit them.
