Afternoon

15:00 Tura-Shaked CP
Families with children dressed up for the holiday go through on both sides of the CP. A DCO vehicle is in the area.
15:10  "Guys! The SADAK* arrived!"  Three soldiers arrive and are greeted with applause and hand-shakes. They have come to replace three others.

A new polished 4x4 Jeep waits near the soldiers at the entrance to the CP. Its owner, an elegant young man, carries on negotiations for a long time and in the end goes back with his car - and also with his wife and small daughter. We talked to them. It turned out that they are tourists from Jordan and arrived in their car. They have an Israeli visa, are staying in Jerusalem, but they do not have the addendum for the West Bank. They have no relatives in Israel or on the West Bank. Now they are hurrying to get back to Jerusalem.

Somebody who goes through here daily tells us that this morning he discovered that two children were not allowed to go through to the seamline zone with their parents. The man himself went through now with his wife and his children on the order of the DCO officer who is in the area.

15:55 Barta'a-Reihan CP
Men dressed in white shirts go down in the direction of the terminal. The road that leads to the CP - is empty of trucks and the parking lot is also free. Here too festive families come and go.  Hadi, limping, greets us. Y. from Mavo Dothan, who used his cellular phone while driving fast, enters in  his old Subaru; he  drove Hadi's car (reverse) into a road guard and and crushed it  from behind, so that it was crushed also in front and on its right side. The settler, Y. has no insurance at all. "He grabbed his head" Hadi told us and paid him NIS 6000 but Hadi's knee is hurt and Y. refuses to pay for treatment. Hadi has hard things to say about the condition of the hospital in Jenin and about the health services on the West Bank altogether. If I understood him correctly - his father has the money that he received and he cannot pay NIS500 for  the x-rays, money that will be returned by the Palestinian Authority after a month or two. The people all around, the drivers, laugh and claim that he is putting on  a show. How can you know? The car is in the parking lot.

M.A. wants a permit to take his children,  aged 10 , 8 and 2, to the seashore theday after tomorrow. He himself has a  permit to work in Israel, as a tradesman. His son asked him, "What, we can see Jews? They won't kill us?" "I want to show them that Jews are also human beingsl" says M. We will try to help him.tomorrow. If somebody has helpful information in relation to this matter - they are invited to write me.
